Details that change the decision
Sending volume
beehiiv: The captured Free plan lists unlimited sends.
MailerLite: At the captured 500-subscriber setting, Comfort includes 5,000 emails per month; Power lists unlimited emails subject to fair use. A campaign to 500 people uses 500 sends.
Team and publications
beehiiv: Lite lists two team seats and three publications; Pro lists 10 seats and 10 publications.
MailerLite: The captured Free plan includes two user seats. Check the paid plan’s user limits against your team’s needs.
Paid newsletters
beehiiv: Lite includes paid subscriptions with a 0% platform take rate; payment processing fees still apply.
MailerLite: Check the current plan and payment terms for your intended monetization setup.
Audience growth
beehiiv: Paid prices rise with subscriber count. The captured plans list up to 100,000 subscribers on Lite and 250,000 on Pro.
MailerLite: Billing counts addresses active at any point in the billing cycle, even if deleted later; unsubscribed and bounced subscribers do not count. Its guidance says paid accounts exceeding their active-subscriber limit move to the next tier and the card is charged.
Comfort send limit
MailerLite’s plan-update guidance says exceeding the limit triggers an automatic tier upgrade. Its pricing FAQ instead describes upgrading to Power or waiting for the next billing cycle. Confirm the behavior for your account before reaching the limit.
Before choosing
Check both providers at your actual subscriber count and billing period. Compare the sending allowance, automation features, team access and any paid-subscription fees you need, as well as renewal terms.
