What changes the decision
Shared storage
Dropbox: Standard starts at 3 TB for the team. The captured page describes a starting amount, not 3 TB for each user.
Google Workspace: Business Standard lists 2 TB per user contributed to a pool shared across the organization. Five users would contribute 10 TB in total; it is a shared pool rather than a separate 2 TB allocation for each person. Drive, Gmail and Google Photos use the same pool.
Google says pooled storage is granted in stages: the full limit follows a $30 subscription payment and can take up to 72 hours to increase. Check availability before a large migration. Read Google’s storage guidance.
What is included
Dropbox: Standard lists team folders, sharing controls and 180 days to restore deleted files.
Google Workspace: Business Standard includes custom business email, collaboration apps and video meetings with recording. It is a broader suite, not a storage-only plan.
Before choosing
Check how many people need paid access, the actual shared storage you need, existing email and app subscriptions, recovery requirements and the renewal terms. A lower plan price does not establish the cost of replacing the rest of your team’s tools.
