Free plan changed
Mailchimp Free lists a 250-contact limit, down from 500 in an earlier capture
The May 2025 pricing page listed a 500-contact Free limit; the December capture displayed 250 and said sending would pause if the limit was exceeded. The exact rollout date and the effect on existing accounts are not established by these captures. The December page also retained a 500-contact value in separate embedded data, while its visible Free card stated 250.

What to check next
Review your own plan and usage. Current-plan details reflect the 2026-11-05 US capture.
Check your contact total
Mailchimp’s current guidance says archived, cleaned and deleted contacts do not count toward the contact total. Check your own account and terms before changing your audience.
Plan around sending limits
Mailchimp’s current guidance says exceeding the Free contact limit pauses live and test email sending until you reduce the total or upgrade. Paid pricing depends on contact count.
